BATISTA PROFILE |
Batista profile written by Christian
Rios
David Michael Bautista Jr; better knows as
Batista in the WWE, was born on January 18,1969.
He's one of the strongest wrestlers in the
business today and has a lot of support from the
fans, especially since he left Evolution, where
he was over shadowed by Triple H and Ric Flair.
Since his move to Smackdown, Batista has tasted
victory at the championship level. He has won
the World Heavyweight Championship 3 times and
has also won the WWE Tag Team Championship with
Rey Mysterio once, as well as the World Tag Team
Championship twice with Ric Flair during the
Evolution days. He is an animal in the ring, and
a stylish man on the streets. Batista, known for
his powerful "Batista Bomb"; a powerful sit-out
power bomb, is a wrestler at heart. He fights to
win the gold, and doesn't back down from his
opponents. His match against The Undertaker at
Wrestlemania 23, was voted as Match of the Year
in 2007. He performs at a high level and his
popularity has risen incredibly.
Batista
was always one to criticize other wrestling
brands, to the point where he even criticized
Smackdown when he was on the Raw roster. He now
wrestles on the Smackdown roster, but still
makes appearances on the Raw brand, due to feuds
with Raw superstars such as Umaga. He is a proud
wrestler, but a cocky one at the same time. His
quick rise to the top, made him a confident
superstar in the locker room, and even caused a
real life fight with Booker T backstage during a
2006 Summer Slam PPV commercial. It was reported
that Batista claimed that he was better than the
rest of the roster due to his quick advancement
and his main event status and appearances. His
ego surpassed his confidence and it got out of
control. Batista threw a punch at Booker, which
resulted in major swelling, and Booker swore
he'd get his revenge on Batista, but eventually
both were able to put it behind them.
Batista came from a poor family, and he himself
stated that he's no ashamed what so ever to
admit it. His mother, Donna Raye Bautista; a
lesbian, is of Greek nationality and his father
David Michael Bautista, is Filipino. It wasn't
easy growing up for Bautista Jr, claiming there
three murders on his front lawn that he had
either witnessed or known about, by the time he
was only nine years of age. He also said that he
was stealing cars by the time he was 13. Not the
Batista we know of today, but the Bautista Jr
who grew up at a young age. He grew up working
as a bouncer for many clubs, but was later
arrested after a fight that left two people
badly injured. Batista was then sentenced to a
years' probation. He did many other things such
as life guarding and so forth, but he had dreams
of becoming a body builder. Batista loved body
building and could see himself on the cover of
popular body building magazines. He says that
body building is what possibly saved his life.
As I mentioned before, Batista is a stylish
guy, and has also posed for many magazines, as
well as appearing in plenty of WWE Pay Per View
commercials; his most famous one being where he
was shown break dancing promoting WWE SummerSlam
2004. He's also appeared representing the WWE on
an episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition in
January 2007, alongside John Cena and Ashley
Massaro. Batista has been divorced twice, but
has two daughters Keilana(born in 1990) and
Athena(born in 1992), with his first wife
Glenda. He then married his second wife Angie in
October of 1998; however the two divorced in
2006. Batista has also dated WWE Diva Melina and
also 2006 Diva Search contestant Rebecca
DiPietro. He is already a proud grandfather of
two grandsons: Aiden and Jacob, who are both
Keilana's kids. Batista has achieved a lot, but
has also been accused of a lot; specifically
steroid use. Batista was accused of using
anabolic steroids when a list of wrestlers were
named in an article by ESPN, who were reportedly
clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando, which
is one of many pharmacies under investigation
for filling illegal prescriptions.
At
the end of the day, David Michael Bautista Jr,
is a well respected individual in the world of
wrestling and in modern day society. He has
succeeded at many things, and has survived a
rough childhood; though I can guarantee that
Batista's list of achievements isn't complete.
The Animal is still on the loose.
