"The Man"

He is the Showstopper, the Main Event, the Headliner, the Icon, Mr. WrestleMania, and Heartbreak Kid. He has wrestled and won 3 out 4 of WWE first matches (such as Hell in the Cell, Iron Man, Elimination Chamber, and Ladder Matches). He is WWE first Grand Slam Champion. He is no other is Shawn Michaels.

Born Michaels Shawn Hickenbottom on July 22, 1965 in Chandler, Arizona but grew up in San Antonio, Texas. After, graduating from high school, he attended Southwest Texas State University, but soon realize college was not for him. Michaels began pursuing a career in professional wrestling. He started to train under Jose Lothario.

Michaels debuts in the Mid-South Wrestling and Texas All-Star Wrestling (TAW) promotion. During his time with TAW, he and Paul Diamond were awarded the TAW Tag Team Championship by Chavo Guerrero, Sr. He had also debuted in American Wrestling Association (AWA), teaming with Marty Jannetty. They were called "The Midnight Rockers". They won the AWA World Tag Team Championship. In 1987, The Rockers were signed to WWF. Two weeks later, they were let go for a bar incident.

1988, The Rockers was re-debuted with WWF. October 1990, The Rocker were to win the tag team titles from Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart at a taping. WWF void the win due to a collapsed turnbuckle during the match and the match would never broadcast or acknowledged on television. The Rockers would eventually split during a taping of Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake's Barbershop. Michaels superkick (Sweet Chin Music).

HBK started his singles as a cocky and very vain villain. He also had his first manager "Sensational" Sherri Martel, who also sung his theme music "Sexy Boy". Michaels was a big competitor for the Intercontinental Championship. But he failed to win the I-C from Bret Hart in the first- ever Ladder Match. However, he won the belt from "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith at Saturday Night's Main Event. When he lost the belt, he hired a "bodyguard" named Diesel (Kevin Nash), to help him win it back.

In 1993, Michaels quit the company, so it was said. But in reality, he was suspended for testing positive for steroids, which he still denies. Michaels returned to WWF television for Nov. Survivor Series to replaced Jerry Lawler in a match.

August 1994, Michaels and Diesel became tag team champions. The next night at SummerSlam, Diesel lost the I-C to Razor Ramon when Michaels accidentally kicked Diesel. After that they split, he won the Royal Rumble and became #1 contender for the WWF Championship against Diesel ( who won it from Bob Backlund) at WrestleMaina XI. He then hired Sycho Sid as his new bodyguard. Michaels lost the match and was attacked by his new bodyguard the next night.

May 19, 1996, an incident known as "Curtain Call: The MGS Incident", where Michaels won the Steel Cage match against Kevin Nash. After the match, Scott Hall and Triple H join them in the ring to give a goodbye hug to Scott Hall and Kevin Nash (who was leaving to go to WCW). They was known as the Clique.

Later that summer, Michaels and Triple H, along with Chyna and Rick Rude form a group called D-Generation X. Also known as DX. This had marked the beginning a the Attitude Era. He was also heavily involved with the "Montreal Screwjob", as the fans called it. While with DX, he became both European and WWF Champion at the same time. He lost the European title to Triple H ( actually he let him pinned him). Then at WrestleMania XIV, he lost his WWF title to Stone Cold Steve Austin and was force to retire because of his back injures.

He came back as Commissioner in 1998, then left again. He came back again in 2002, to join NWO until they disbanded later that year. Shawn Michaels is still an active wrestler in the WWE. He is one of the wrestlers that is still there since RAW debuted. Right now, Shawn is at war with Chris Jericho, who punched Shawn's wife in the face at SummerSlam which caused him to come out of retirement (which he announced it at SummerSlam before Jericho came out). He is now in the running for special referee at Cyber Sunday for the WWE title match between Jericho and Batista.
